Rheonikmass flow meter has more than twenty years of experience in the field of Coriolis mass flow meter design and development. Beginning in 1984, Karl Küppers began the design of a mass flow meter based upon the Coriolis effect that later became the patented Omega tube Coriolis mass flow meter manufactured by Rheonik today.
After the exhaustive testing of many different designs, the Omega tube meter with torsion rods and mass bars was granted a patent based upon its unique operation and construction features. Compared to other meter designs, the Rheonik Omega tube design offers outstanding performance and mechanical reliability.
Rheonik Mass Flow Meter was founded in 1986 for commercial production of the Rheonik mass flow meter range. Based originally in the town of Maisach near Munich, Germany, the company grew quickly because of widespread success of the Rheonik design. To accommodate increased demand, Rheonik relocated in 2003 to a larger facility in Odelzhausen with greater production and office space.

The RHEONIK mass flow meter consists of one of the RHM series flow sensors and one RHE series transmitter. The remote unit RHE 07/08 is for installation in a safe non-Ex area and is connected to the sensor via a single multi-conductor cable. Please note, that the types RHE 07/08 and all sensor articles are available in non Ex-versions (without Exnameplate). The RHE 11 (Ex d) may be installed and operated in hazardous Ex-areas (Zone 1 or 2). Ex-series sensors RHM (with Ex-Label) are, when connected with an Ex- Transmitter, made for installation inside hazardous areas (Ex-zone 0, 1 or 2). The coriolis transmitter RHE includes seven printed boards which can be replaced during servicing. The remote electronic unit consists of two bent measuring loops in the shape of an omega.
Coriolis Mass Flow Sensor
Rheonik Mass Flow Meter operating on the “Coriolis principle” contains a vibrating tube in which a fluid flow causes changes in frequency, phase shift or amplitude. The sensor signal is fed into the integrally mounted pc-board. The resulting output signal is strictly proportional to the real mass flow rate, whereas thermal mass flow meters are dependent of the physical properties of the fluid. Rheonik Coriolis mass flow measurement is fast and very accurate.
Rheonik Mass Flow Meter work on the principle that the inertia created by fluid flowing through an oscillating tube causes the tube to twist in proportion to mass flow rate. Many Coriolis meters have two tubes. They are made to vibrate in opposition to each other by means of a magnetic coil. Sensors in the form of magnet and coil assemblies are mounted on the inlet and the outlet of both flow tubes. As the coils move through the magnetic field created by the magnet, they create a voltage in the form of a sine wave. These sine waves are the key to measuring mass flow.
Rheonik Mass Flow Meter are the most accurate flow meters made. While many magnetic flow meters have accuracy in the range of 0.5 percent, many Coriolis flow meters achieve accuracy of 0.1 %. It is the high accuracy of Coriolis flow meters that is one of the major reasons for their extremely rapid growth over the past five years. All Rheonik coriolis mass flow meters are based on a patented Omega tube design with increased signal-to-noise ratio, for excellent performance and reliability. The combination of a patented torsion rod swinger with the Omega shape and support bars results in high accuracy measurement independent of pressure, even at very low flow velocities. RHM coriolis mass flow sensors are extremely resistant to gas bubbles entrained in the process stream, and are unaffected by viscosity, density, extreme temperatures, and pressure changes. After long testing cycles for various construction types, the Omega shaped torsion oscillator with its mass bars and torsion rods was brought to the patent offices. The design got patented based on its unique operational and construction features.
